Diabetes UK - Research & Tech

Verity McLelland is the Volunteering and Outreach Manager Diabetes UK (South West).  She lives with Type 1 and has a wealth of practical experience of the equipment available.  Her talk will highlight the work of the charity to realise their vision of a world where diabetes can do no harm.  Verity has recently visited Exeter University and will brief us on the exciting research into pre-diabetes advice, putting Type 2 into remission, and Type 1 treatments.  Verity will be accompanied by Matt Robert who is the new Improving Care Manager.  He has previously worked in health and social care and his job now is to help the NHS improve care for local people with diabetes. He will brief us on his recent discussions with Wiltshire CCG. This should be an interesting, educational talk.
